New scan could replace risky procedure for curable high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT06100367
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a special PET scan (11C-Metomidate) to find adrenal tumors that cause high blood pressure. About 100 people with primary aldosteronism will get this scan instead of the usual invasive vein test. If successful, the scan could help more people get curative surgery without the need for lifelong medication.
