New peptide drug aims to tame sepsis in pneumonia patients

This early-stage trial tests a drug called OPT101 in 26 adults hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis. The drug is designed to reduce harmful inflammation. The main goal is to check safety and how the body processes the drug, not yet to prove it works.
