Autoimmune thyroid disease
MONDO:0005623Inflammatory disease of the thyroid gland due to autoimmune responses leading to lymphocytic infiltration of the gland. The clinical signs can range from hypothyroidism to thyrotoxicosis depending on the type of autoimmune thyroiditis.

Gut bacteria swap may tame diabetes and thyroid disease
Disease control Not yet recruitingThis trial tests whether a one-time dose of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) — taking capsules containing processed donor stool — can improve blood sugar control and reduce thyroid antibodies in adults who have both type 2 diabetes and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Hashimoto's thyroiditis study probes hidden inflammation link
Knowledge-focused Not yet recruitingThis study compares levels of two proteins, Klotho and FGF23, in 150 adults with Hashimoto's thyroiditis versus healthy controls. The goal is to see if these proteins are linked to inflammation in the disease. No treatment is given—only blood samples are taken.
