AI could predict who benefits most from heart rehab
NCT ID NCT05461729
First seen Apr 08, 2026
Summary
This study follows 1200 people with coronary artery disease who are taking part in cardiac rehabilitation. Researchers will collect detailed health data, including activity levels and heart measurements, to train AI models that predict long-term success. The goal is to understand why some patients do well and others don't, and to personalize rehab programs. Participants will be tracked for up to 10 years to see who has future heart problems.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors personalize cardiac rehab programs and predict which patients will have the best long-term heart health.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It collects data to build prediction models, so it won't directly improve health. The results may take years to apply in practice.
