New drug combo aims to protect kidney transplants from early failure

NCT ID NCT06855758

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 25, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding terlipressin to standard care helps maintain stable blood pressure during kidney transplant surgery. Researchers will compare two groups of 150 adults: one receiving terlipressin plus dobutamine, the other dobutamine alone. The main goal is to see if terlipressin reduces the need for dialysis in the first week after transplant.
