New swallowing exercise may help stroke survivors eat safely at home

Summary

This study tests a 12-week swallowing exercise program for older adults who had a stroke and have trouble swallowing. Participants do chin exercises and use a special ball to measure swallowing pressure. The goal is to see if this improves their swallowing ability and quality of life. The study involves 132 people who receive home care.
