Shoulder surgery pain showdown: catheter vs. single shot

NCT ID NCT05868330

First seen Nov 10, 2025

Summary

This study compares two methods of numbing the shoulder after total shoulder replacement: a continuous catheter that delivers pain medicine over time versus a single injection of long-lasting medication. About 56 adults having shoulder replacement will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see which approach provides better pain control and function on the first day after surgery.
