Robot takes the wheel in brain surgery trial

NCT ID NCT06752096

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 25, 2026

Summary

This early study is testing whether a robot can help doctors perform procedures on brain blood vessels, such as angiography, embolization for tumors, and clot removal for stroke. Ten people who are already scheduled for these procedures will have them done with robotic assistance. The main goal is to see if the robot can successfully reach the target blood vessel.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that robots can help doctors perform delicate brain procedures more precisely.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early exploratory study with only 10 people. It is not designed to prove the robot works better than standard care, only to see if it is possible.
