New diabetes drug MK-1403 enters human testing

Summary

This early-stage study tests an experimental drug called MK-1403 in people with type 2 diabetes. The main goals are to check if the drug is safe and tolerable, and to see how it behaves in the body. Researchers will also measure its effect on a marker of inflammation (hsCRP). About 52 participants will receive either MK-1403 or a placebo.
