Scientists probe lymph nodes to uncover HIV's hiding spots

NCT ID NCT01202305

First seen May 24, 2026

Summary

This study looks at lymph node tissue from people with HIV to learn how the virus stays in the body even when medicines are working. Researchers will take small biopsies from the groin area to measure HIV levels and tissue damage. The goal is to better understand HIV persistence, not to test a new treatment. About 50 adults with HIV who are either on stable therapy or have natural virus control will participate.
