Liver transplant may reverse artery damage in cirrhosis patients

Summary
This study looks at how liver cirrhosis and liver transplantation affect hardening of the arteries (arterial calcification). Researchers will measure a substance called pyrophosphate in the blood and urine of 95 people waiting for a liver transplant. They want to see if the transplant can stop or reverse artery hardening and restore normal pyrophosphate levels.
