New breathing device may reduce need for ventilator in pneumonia patients

Summary

This study tests whether a newer breathing machine (HVNI) works better than standard noninvasive ventilation (NIV) for adults with pneumonia who are having trouble breathing. About 100 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two machines. The main goal is to see which method reduces the need for a breathing tube or death within 48 hours.
