Gut health boost: new supplement trial for dialysis patients

Summary

This study is testing whether a 12-week course of a multi-species synbiotic (a mix of probiotics and prebiotics) can improve gut health and reduce harmful toxins in the blood of people on hemodialysis. The trial will enroll 30 adults who have been on dialysis for at least 3 months. Researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria, blood toxin levels, and markers of gut leakage.
