What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

FELLAship program (behavioral intervention: health education, physical activity, coaching)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that a church-based program helps Black men lower their risk for heart disease and diabetes.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 90 participants, so results may not apply to all Black men. The program requires weekly attendance, which may be hard to maintain.
