Experimental CAR T-Cell therapy takes on metastatic prostate cancer
NCT ID NCT06267729
First seen Nov 11, 2025
Summary
This study tests a new treatment called AZD0754 for men with metastatic prostate cancer that has spread and is no longer responding to hormone therapy. AZD0754 is a type of immunotherapy where a patient's own immune cells are modified in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer cells. The trial will enroll 60 adults to check if the treatment is safe and whether it can shrink tumors or lower PSA levels.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AZD0754 (a CAR T-cell therapy targeting STEAP2)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for men with metastatic prostate cancer that has not responded to other therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 60 participants, so it may not work for everyone. CAR T-cell therapy can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
