What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
long-acting injectable antiretroviral therapy (ART)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that peer support and injectable meds help teens with HIV stay healthy and engaged in care.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with no phase, so results are uncertain. It focuses on a specific group in South Africa, so findings may not apply elsewhere.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
