Heart attack prevention showdown: smart imaging vs. pills alone

NCT ID NCT05824520

First seen Feb 02, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat people with chronic coronary artery disease (narrowed heart arteries). One group gets a special CT scan to find blocked arteries and then receives procedures like stents or bypass surgery. The other group gets only medications and lifestyle advice. The goal is to see which approach better prevents heart attacks, death, or the need for more procedures. About 1,066 adults with at least one narrowed artery will take part.
