Gene therapy retreatment aims to cut surgeries for rare throat tumor condition

NCT ID NCT06538480

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether retreating adults with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) with a gene therapy called Zopapogene imadenovec can reduce the need for repeated surgeries to remove throat growths. It involves 30 participants in two groups: one to check how the virus vector spreads in the body, and another to see if retreatment leads to no surgeries for a year. The goal is to better control the disease, not cure it.
