New study tests if ceramic implants can match titanium for Same-Day tooth replacement
NCT ID NCT05369299
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether a two-piece zirconia (ceramic) dental implant works as well as a standard titanium implant when placed immediately after a tooth is removed. Thirty-three adults with good oral health and enough bone received either a zirconia or titanium implant. Researchers measured implant stability and bone loss over time to see if the ceramic option is a reliable alternative.
