First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study is testing how much of the drug zilucoplan gets into breast milk after daily injections. Fifteen healthy lactating women who have already decided to stop breastfeeding will provide milk samples over 24 hours. The goal is to estimate how much drug an infant might consume, helping to assess safety for future use.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

zilucoplan

What this could lead to

If successful, this study will help determine whether zilucoplan is safe for infants exposed through breast milk, guiding future use in breastfeeding mothers.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-phase study in healthy women, not patients. Results may not reflect real-world conditions or guarantee safety for all infants.
