New hope for kids with stubborn leukemia: targeted drug combo enters first human tests
NCT ID NCT06376162
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new drug called ziftomenib, which targets a specific genetic change in leukemia cells, combined with standard chemotherapy (FLA). It enrolls up to 20 children and young adults (ages 0–21) whose leukemia has come back or not responded to treatment. The main goal is to find the safest dose and understand how the drug works in the body, not yet to prove it cures the disease.
