New Z-Shaped plate could improve jaw fracture healing

Summary

This study tests a new Z-shaped metal plate for fixing broken jawbones. Eighteen adults with certain types of jaw fractures will be randomly assigned to receive either the Z-shaped plate or standard straight plates. The researchers will compare bone healing, pain, and stability over several months to see if the Z-shaped plate works better.
