New hope for teens: building a lifeline to combat suicide risk in early psychosis

NCT ID NCT05558332

Summary

This study is testing a new support program for teens and young adults (ages 12-25) who are at risk for developing psychosis and have had recent suicidal thoughts or attempts. The program, called the Youth-Nominated Support Team (YST), works by training and guiding a young person's chosen friends and family members to provide better support. The goal is to see if this team-based approach can reduce feelings of isolation and hopelessness, lower suicide risk, and help young people stay engaged in their treatment.
