Teens take the lead: can young people redesign cities to fight inactivity?
NCT ID NCT06181162
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 38 times
Summary
This study brings together 1000 teenagers from disadvantaged areas in Denmark, the Netherlands, Nigeria, and South Africa. Working with researchers and local leaders, the teens will identify problems and co-create changes to their physical and social environment — like parks, walkways, or community programs — to encourage more physical activity, better sleep, and less screen time. The goal is to see if a youth-led, participatory approach can actually improve health behaviours and be sustained over time.
