NCT ID NCT03858309
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looked at whether 8 weeks of yoga breathing practices can change how cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) moves around the brain and spine. 26 healthy adults who had never done yoga or similar practices were randomly assigned to one of two breathing groups. Researchers measured CSF flow using MRI scans and also checked blood pressure, body mass, and self-reported quality of life, sleep, and stress. The goal was to understand the effects of yogic breathwork on brain fluid circulation, not to treat any disease.
