Canadian study digs into why some women get repeated yeast infections
NCT ID NCT04930107
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at 120 Canadian women aged 18 to 50 to understand why some get repeated yeast infections while others don't. Researchers will compare the vaginal yeast and bacteria in women with their first infection, recurrent infections, and those with yeast but no symptoms. They will also track how treatment with fluconazole or boric acid affects the vaginal environment. The goal is to learn more about what causes recurrent infections, not to test a new treatment.
