New combo therapy shows promise for Tough-to-Treat liver cancer
NCT ID NCT03033446
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a combination of Y90 radioembolization (a targeted radiation treatment for the liver) and nivolumab (an immunotherapy drug) in 40 Asian patients with advanced liver cancer that could not be surgically removed. The goal was to see if the combination could shrink tumors and improve survival. The treatment aims to control the disease, not cure it, and patients may need ongoing monitoring or additional therapies.
