Pen over pill? study tests writing to ease nurse intern stress
NCT ID NCT06238141
Summary
This study tested if a simple writing exercise could help nursing students cope with the stress of their first hospital internship. 52 students were split into two groups: one wrote about their deepest thoughts and feelings about the internship, while the other wrote about neutral topics. Both groups wrote for 10-15 minutes, twice a week, for nine weeks. Researchers then compared the groups to see if the emotional writing reduced stress and improved their feelings about their work.
