Ultrasound reveals how hypermobile wrists change the median nerve
NCT ID NCT06918613
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study used ultrasound to compare how the median nerve changes shape in different wrist positions (neutral, bent, straightened, and tilted) between 36 women with generalized joint hypermobility and healthy controls. The goal was to understand if hypermobile joints cause the nerve to deform more easily. Results may help explain why some people with hypermobility develop wrist or hand symptoms.
