New word practice method aims to help stroke survivors find their words

Summary

This study tests a new word-retrieval treatment for adults with aphasia, a language disorder often caused by stroke. About 20 participants will practice retrieving words to improve speaking and understanding. The goal is to develop a treatment that can eventually be used at home alongside regular speech therapy.
