Swallow a pill, skip the tube: new test for stomach acid

NCT ID NCT00702533

Summary

This study tested a new, easier way to measure stomach acid. Researchers compared a swallowable wireless capsule called the SmartPill to the standard method, which uses an uncomfortable tube through the nose. They tested it in healthy volunteers and in people with conditions that cause too much stomach acid to see if it was safe and accurate.
