Swallow a pill, skip the tube: new test for stomach acid

NCT ID NCT00702533

Summary

This study tested a new, easier way to measure stomach acid. Researchers compared a small, swallowable wireless capsule (called SmartPill) to the standard, uncomfortable method that uses a tube down the nose. They tested it in healthy volunteers and in people with conditions that cause too much stomach acid, like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
