Summary

This study tests whether a special breathing technique called Wim Hof breathing can improve lung function in young men who smoke e-cigarettes. Forty-two participants will practice deep breathing and breath-holding exercises. Researchers will measure lung capacity, oxygen levels, and walking ability to see if the technique helps.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Wim Hof breathing exercise
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple breathing technique to help smokers improve their lung function.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early study with only 42 participants. The results may not apply to all smokers, and the breathing exercise may not produce meaningful improvements.
