Urine test may replace needles for wilson disease monitoring

NCT ID NCT07301216

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a urine test can be used to monitor Wilson Disease instead of a blood test. About 30 adults with stable Wilson Disease will temporarily stop their medication under close supervision. Researchers will collect daily urine and blood samples for 4 days to see if the urine test matches the blood test results. If successful, this could make monitoring easier and more accessible for patients.
