First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding whole-body vibration training to standard physical therapy helps people recovering from deep second-degree burns on their legs. Sixty adults aged 20 to 50 took part. They did standard exercises plus vibration sessions three times a week for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if it improved hamstring flexibility, muscle activity, and quality of life.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
whole-body vibration training on a vibration platform
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer a simple, drug-free way to improve flexibility and quality of life after burn injuries.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with no blinding or long-term follow-up, so results may not apply widely. The intervention is an add-on to standard therapy, making it hard to isolate its effect.
