Texting your way to tennis confidence: study tests WhatsApp boost
NCT ID NCT07427030
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a simple planning method called MCII (Mental Contrasting with Implementation Intentions) can boost university students' confidence to join and stick with tennis training. It also tested if adding WhatsApp reminders made the strategy work better. Twenty-two students from a tennis club took part, with one group using MCII alone and another group getting extra WhatsApp reminders. The results help us understand how digital nudges might support self-regulation and sport participation.
