Can pumping iron lift your mood? new study tests weight training against depression
NCT ID NCT06110897
Summary
This study is testing whether a 16-week weight training program can help reduce symptoms of major depression. Researchers will compare a high-intensity program to a low-intensity one in 200 adults with depression. The goal is to see if lifting weights improves mood and to understand how it might work by measuring changes in brain blood flow and participants' confidence.
