Summary
This study is testing whether weight loss surgery can reduce heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure in people with severe obesity and existing heart disease. Researchers will compare surgery against medication-based weight management in 200 participants. The trial will also examine mental health effects, heart function changes, and whether the surgery is cost-effective for healthcare systems.
