Can shedding pounds ease a fluttering heart?
NCT ID NCT03713775
Summary
This study tested whether a structured weight loss and behavioral support program could reduce symptoms related to atrial fibrillation (AF) in older, overweight patients. 119 participants aged 60-85 with persistent AF were randomly assigned to either the weight loss program or usual care for about 8 months. The main goal was to see if the program led to better symptom control and quality of life compared to standard treatment.
