First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a health program delivered through the WeChat app could help children with autism (ages 8-12) manage their weight. 276 families in China were split into three groups: usual care, a 16-week WeChat program, or the same program plus weekly group video chats with a coach. The goal was to see if the digital program could improve body mass index (BMI) and prevent obesity over time.
