Smart watches could help doctors decide when to remove breathing tubes
NCT ID NCT07198425
Summary
This study aims to see if data from wearable devices can help doctors predict which patients with a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck) are ready to have it safely removed. Researchers will monitor 120 patients for 24 hours using wearables to track their body's signals, like heart rate and oxygen levels. They will compare this data between patients who succeed and those who fail the tube removal process to build a prediction model.
