Danish trial tests if recovered heart patients can ditch lifelong pills

NCT ID NCT06128980

Summary

This study is for people whose heart failure was likely caused by a fast, irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation). It tests if patients who have fully recovered their heart function after their rhythm is controlled can safely stop their heart failure medications. Researchers will compare patients who gradually stop their drugs to those who continue them, checking for any return of heart problems over a year. The goal is to see if some recovered patients can avoid lifelong medication and its side effects.
