Scientists zap brains to map epilepsy's hidden signals
NCT ID NCT05250713
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026
Summary
This study looked at how weak electric currents applied to the scalp change brain activity in people with drug-resistant focal epilepsy. Twelve adults undergoing brain monitoring for epilepsy received mild stimulation while their brain signals were recorded. The goal was to measure changes in abnormal brain spikes and connections between brain regions, not to treat the condition.
