Can a second glass of water keep blood pressure up?
NCT ID NCT00580996
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether drinking water can help raise blood pressure in people with orthostatic hypotension (a condition where blood pressure drops when standing up). Researchers want to know if the blood pressure boost from water wears off if you drink a full glass just a few hours earlier. The study involves 20 adults aged 18 to 80 who have this condition and have shown a blood pressure increase from water in past studies.
