Warm blankets and heated IVs may cut inflammation after gallbladder surgery

NCT ID NCT07232251

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether different ways of keeping patients warm during gallbladder surgery can reduce inflammation and improve recovery. 128 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: no active warming, a forced-air warming blanket, warmed IV fluids, or both blanket and warmed fluids. The researchers will measure body temperature and blood markers of inflammation before and after surgery to find the best warming method.
