Summary
This study tested whether a numbing method called WALANT can make inserting a central line (a large IV) less painful than standard lidocaine. 64 adults needing a central line for trauma, dialysis, or severe malnutrition took part. Patients rated their pain before and after the procedure to compare the two numbing approaches.
