New numbing technique could make vein procedures less painful

Summary
This study tested whether a numbing method called WALANT works better than standard lidocaine for reducing pain during central venous catheter insertion. 64 adults who needed this procedure for trauma, dialysis, or severe malnutrition took part. Patients rated their pain before and after the procedure using a simple pain scale.
