New hope for tough leukemia: vyxeos targets cancer cells after standard chemo fails

NCT ID NCT04049539

First seen Apr 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called Vyxeos in adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) whose cancer did not go away after the first round of standard chemotherapy. Vyxeos combines two common chemo drugs inside a tiny fat bubble (liposome) to deliver them more directly to cancer cells, possibly with fewer side effects. The goal is to see if this approach can control the disease and improve survival.
