Vaginal infections may slow healing after vulvar surgery, new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06070454

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether common vaginal infections (like yeast or bacterial vaginosis) increase the risk of wound problems after surgery for non-cancerous vulvar conditions. About 91 women will have a vaginal swab before surgery and be checked for infections. Researchers will then see if those with infections have more wound redness or breakdown after surgery.
