New heart catheter matches gold standard in VT trial

NCT ID NCT06028919

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested two types of catheters used to treat ventricular tachycardia (VT), a life-threatening fast heart rhythm. 61 adults with VT received either a newer Diamond Temp catheter or the current standard Tacticath/Tactiflex catheter. The goal was to see if the newer device works just as well and is as safe at reducing VT episodes over 12 months.
