New heart catheter shows promise in VT treatment trial

NCT ID NCT06028919

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested two different catheters used to treat ventricular tachycardia (VT), a life-threatening fast heart rhythm. 61 adults with VT received a procedure to destroy small areas of unhealthy heart tissue. The goal was to see if a newer catheter works as well and safely as the current standard one. Results will help doctors choose the best tool to reduce VT episodes and painful shocks from defibrillators.
